It had been a long day for Riley. Besides spending most of the day keeping up with school work, Riley had just spent a few hours as a panther, running around the forest practicing and preparing herself for anything. She had join the Resistance, but sadly there wasn't many members yet. During her spare time, Riley would sometimes talk to other people, who she would think could help if they joined the Resistance. She would feel them out and see what their views are and if they were really interested in actually joining something. They always seem to be so dedicated in wanting to change things and for everything to be back to the way it was, but when she asked them if they would actually join a resistance, they would make up an excuse as to why they couldn't. It was getting fustrating.
Tired from all of the training she put herself through, Riley decided to go to the Three Broomsticks for a drink and to just relax. Though before Riley could head into town, she had to change back into her human form. It didn't take long for Riley to transform from a black panther to a fair skin woman. She had her curly brunette hair pulled back into a ponytail to keep it out of her face, but a few strands always seem to fall out. She adjusted her black tank top and cut-off jeans shorts before heading into town.
It didn't take long for Riley to reach the Three Broomsticks. She walked in and didn't bother to look around to see who else was there. She was more interested in getting a drink and maybe some food, because the last time she had anything to eat or drink was at breakfast. She headed straight for the counter and took a seat on one of the stools there. She decided to start with a butterbeer for now and see how it goes from there.
With out looking, Riley could feel that there were some eyes on her. She didn't come into town often, mostly because she didn't have a lot of money to be able to buy things. Also, she is usually busy doing a million things. Riley looked around and would smile at the people who were looking at her, almost flirting in a way. She was quite bad for that. Her eyes soon landed on Dominic Hunterson. "Great." She said under her breath. It wasn't that he wasn't a nice person or anything. He was quite hot, but she was just sick and tired of hearing about him. He had groupies, who usually followed him around and would try flirting with him. She didn't know why they did it, but they did. Then she would get to hear about him at night in her room. All the girls would usually gossip about him. How hot he was. What he has been up to. How badass he can be. How things would be like if they were dating him. How good he must be in bed and so on. It was to the point where it was driving her insane.
Riley was mostly concerned about how to help others and get rid of the dark lord and his followers, not about how the shirt Dominic was wearing looked on him. She had bigger things to deal with. Riley then brought her attention to her butterbeer and took a few gulps from it, which felt really good.

Dominic sat in silence in The Three Broomsticks. He had been up in his room earlier but his sister seemed to find the need to complain about random stupid little things all day, so he came down here for some peace and quiet. It was peaceful, only thing that happened was the occasional drunken fight from time to time. That was nothing major. He was rather used to it. Working here as an waiter tended to have that affect on him. He saw all kinda of walks of life here. People coming in of all ages, talking about their problems, ordering whiskey and butterbeer. He knew more about people now then he ever deemed possible. There was so much horror in this world, it seemed outstanding. The stories, the sadness in people’s eyes. He heard talk about losing a lover to backstabbing friend, women and men cheating on their loves. Child abuse, sibling abuse, rape, murder, he heard almost everything working here. People let out their hearts when they were drunk. The honest drunks were the most memorable. When they spoke, it was nothing but raw emotion pouring from them. Dominic was the same way when he drinks. A honest drunk. If anyone needs to find out a secret he keeps locked away…all they need to do is get him drunk and he will spill. It was a weakness of his. It’s also the reason he refused to drink. There were very seldom times he allowed himself to do so, usually it involved him being completely alone in his apartment, while his sister was out staying somewhere. There were some thing he was terrified of his sister finding out. Things involving their dad…
His eyes danced around the room, looking at the people wandering in. Many of their usual customers were here tonight. And a few he personally despised on waiting on. Like the drunken 7th year Slytherin in the corner of the room. He always had a smart ass comment for everything, and he loved making Dominic do his bidding. It was like he took some sick satisfaction on having him wait on him hand and foot. If Dominic hadn’t needed the money for the room he was staying in, he wood of punched the bloke in the face a time or two. Pretending like he didn’t see the bloke was a pain. He knew the jerk already noticed he was in there. Dominic couldn’t help but wonder if he was pissed that he was not working tonight. Maybe if he was lucky he ruined the guys night and he would go home…but he doubted him. Pure blood, lots of money, and a drunk…he was going no where tonight. Well if he decided to make a scene at least others could throw him out tonight…Nic was in no mood to put up with his crap. He wanted to relax and maybe have a few Fire Whiskey’s….just not too many…he knew his limits. That and he knew better then to get drunk in a place like this. After all the crap he saw working here, he did not want to be someone’s story for later.
As blue eyes scanned the room again, this time they landed on someone far more of a threat to his well beign then the Slytherin. A Gryffindor...a member of his very own house, and the one woman who managed to get his body so heated up that he was unable to think straight. Last time he came across her, she was on his lap with her arms around him and his sister walked in on them. Cartella screamed, flipping out on the both of them. Riley was her best friend…and to come in on the both of them kissing and her best friend on her brother’s lap had to flip her out a bit. He was in a lot of trouble with her here. He already had a fire whiskey tonight…and the one he was working on moments before refilled itself…so almost a full two glasses now. He was preying like hell she stayed over there.

It was almost impossible to keep her eyes on her Butterbeer and away from Dominic. When she was around her friends, she pretended to be immune by his charm and keep telling the girls that he is just an average guy, that there was nothing special about him. What she never told them was that he actually kind of liked him. Alright, she really liked him, a lot. Sure she knew she was a bad flirt, it was something she couldn't exactly turn off, it just happens. And yeah, she ended up on his lap kissing him, at his place, and was pretty much ready to have sex with him. That was until her best friend, who was also his younger sister, walked in on them. In embarrassment Riley had quickly gotten off of Dominic, gathered things and left.
The next day she got an ear full from Cartella about it. She had asked her how long this had been going on for and if they had been sneaking around doing this behind her back. Riley assured her that this was the first time it had happened. Then she went on promising that it would never happen again. They agreed to forget about it and pretend that it had never happened. Which was fine at first. Until she was alone to her thoughts, which would wonder off to that night. It would sometimes drive her completely insane.
Riley went to take another sip of her drink, when she realized that was empty. She then ordered a Fire Whiskey. Riley knew what she had to do. What had to be done. She quickly downed her drink and asked for another. She needed a little something, if she was going to go through with what she was about to do. She just wished there was a stronger drink. After getting about half of it down, she made her move. Riley headed straight for Dominic's table. Without asking him if the seat was taking, she sat down across from him. "Ok, we need to talk." She told him without looking at him. She didn't want to go through the whole awkward Hi, how are you bit. She just wanted to get this done and over with as soon as possible, before she did stupid.
"What happened that night, it was a mistake. A huge mistake. What ever we felt that night, wasn't anything. We just got caught up with the moment and we took it too far. There is no way anything else could happen between us. Besides I felt horrible with what I put Cartella through. She is my best friend and you are her brother, so you are off limits. So nothing will ever again happen between us. So let's just pretend that night never happened. Got that?" She blurted out to him. She was mostly saying it for her own sake, trying to tell herself these things. The whole time, never looking once at him. She kept her eyes down and at her drink. Riley just wanted to hear him agree with her, before she could leave. She just wanted to hear from him that he felt the same and they could move on.

Dominic sat there in silence as he stared at Riley. She was a remarkable creature. Slender, but not too thin, nice shapely legs, gorgeous chocolate brown hair, and deliciously beautiful eyes. He was not used to such women coming into this place unless they wanted to drink their sorrows away. For whatever reason she did not strike him as the kind that would drink when upset about something. She looked like she was there for pleasure…not because of misery. After working there for so long, it was welcoming to see people like her some into the place. Brought a little life to the room, rather then the dullness it seemed to always have. Dominic hated his job for often then not. There were regulars in here that downright pissed him off and then others that just saddened him every time he saw them in here. There was one in particular that made him sad to see. Lost his wife a few weeks ago, and then about three days ago a few death eaters raped and murdered his youngest daughter. He turned to alcohol to dull the pain, but at the rate he was going he was going to be addicted to the stuff and stuck with it for the rest of his life. Dominic wanted to ask him to stop but how could he ask that of someone that just lost two of the closest members of his family to his heart? His wife was his whole world…and so are his children. He has another daughter but the last he heard of her she was talking about suicide….those were the type of people he hated to see come in here. They made him want to sit there and listen to them for hours…those people need someone to listen to them. That’s why they came here. This girl was so different from them…and she drove him insane.
His blue orbs darkened with barely restrained lust as she came forward. He wished she would of stayed across the room but she couldn’t do that. She was heading right for him, and his body remembered her all too well. He remembered the wild passionate look in her eyes when she sat on his lap kissing him. The woman was tempting. She clawed the chair as he sat there in only a towel. She had impeccable timing so arrive just as he was getting out of the shower. Naturally, he threw only a towel over him…he hadn’t expected the person at his door to be a wild tempting beauty. Riley was tempting, her eyes made him think of mystery and excitement. She made him crave things that he shouldn’t. Especially considering she was his sisters best friend. Damn, Cartella must of laid into him a hundred times within a couple days times. She lost it. But after a while she finally calmed down. He had no clue what caused her to finally cool her horses, but he thanked Merlin for it. Woman was insane when she had something bothering her. Apparently that made her really uneasy. Dominic loved his sister more then anything else, she was his entire world, but when she went off on him the way she did, he wanted to strangle the living hell out of her. He really couldn’t blame her for being worried though. After all the shit they went through it was no wonder that she worried the way she did. Maybe she was afraid that it would ruin her friendship with her best friend.
Dominic’s eyes widened when she m0ved to the table, sat down and stated that they needed to talk. They needed to talk alright. He eyed her carefully. ”Alright then…shoot.” She went right into it. Her words coming out in a rush. Dominic forced himself not to glare at her. He took several swigs of his drink before she shut her trap. He glared at her for a moment but then stopped and just snickered. ”An accident? Was it an accident when I felt your need for me? The raw passion in your eyes as you looked at me? I guarantee if I were to take you up stairs to my room and toss you down on my bed I could ravish you without you throwing up a fight. Don’t give me the mistake crap…you wanted those caresses as much as I.” His eyes darkened further but this time in anger. ”I can’t forget that night because you haunt my dreams. I want you. I want to forget you but your implanted in my brian. A damn vixen. So damn tempting….” Almost three whole Fire Wiskey’s and he already reached this point. He was so screwed. If he had any more….he needed to limit himself....but she made him want to drink….she made him want so amny damn things. One of them included wanting her.

The sound of his voice was sending chills through her. How she wished she could wake up to the sound of his voice, with his arms wrapped around her. She had dreamed it a few times. Though when she woke up remembering about it, she would mentally beat herself up. This could never happen. They shall never be together. She promised Cartella. Riley knew how important this promise was to her. She was suppose to be her best friend, who is always there for her. Not become one of her brother's fan girls that uses her to get to him. She never wanted to become that. She never wanted to hurt her in anyway. So she had to find a way to forget Dominic and move on, no matter how much it hurt.
After saying her peace, Riley just prayed Dominic would agree with her, so then they could move on with their lives. Maybe Cartella had talked some sense into him, though she doubt it. If he is truly related to her, he would be just as stubborn, but she hoped she was wrong. Riley just hopped he had some sense in him to just let her go. Once he agreed, she would leave and not look back. She would probably go to the forest and work out her pain, until she felt completely numb, before she could return to the castle.
Riley didn't expect Dominic to fight back. She thought he would want to forget about her and move on. She sat there listening to him, but never looked up at him. She knew that if she did and look into his piercing blue eyes, she wouldn't be able to resist him. It happened last time and it would happen again. She had to force herself to resist his charm.
When she heard him say in an angry tone that she haunted him in his dreams and that he wanted her, she wanted to burst out and say that she wanted him too. Ever since that night, she couldn't stop thinking about him, but she promised Cartella. "Stop! Just stop!" She told him, not wanting him to carry on. "I don't feel that way toward you. I'm sorry if I lead you to believe that there was something between us, but there isn't. There will never be anything between us." She lied to him, to herself. She could feel tears begin to well up, trying not to cry, she tried put on a brave smile. She continued to stare down at her glass. She knew if she looked up, he would see in her eyes that she was lying.
"To be honest, I was angry at my boyfriend that day and was hoping to cheer up by hanging out with Cartella. Then you answered the door. You were prefect for me to get back at my boyfriend with and it worked. I am sorry for using you the way I did. I should have never done that. I have promised Cartella that it would never happen again." As she told him this, she let a little smirk appear on her lips, hoping her little act will work and that he would forget about her. Everything was nothing but lies, except that she had promised Cartella. She said this knowing it would hurt him, and hoping it would make him give up.
As she said everything, she could feel a pull in her heart. The pain. But you have to learn to let go of what you loved right? It felt almost like losing her parents all over again. She just wanted to race out of the building and let herself cry. Gripping the glass, Riley never looked away from it, in fear that she may actually start crying and she didn't want to do that in front of him. Not when she was trying almost every trick she knew on getting rid of a guy.

Dominic was really getting ticked off. He hated the idea of her staying away from him simply because his sister told her to. He knew that was exactly what it was coming down to. He had to put up with all the loser boyfriends she brought home, and all the two timing jerks that made her cry, but if there was one girl he actually liked, he had to stay the hell away from her. She knew exactly how he felt about being ordered around like a child. He didn’t agree with this. It shouldn’t bother him so much, but it did. There was something about her that just called out to him. She was like a missing piece to him he never knew was missing. Every time he was around her his whole body erupted into flames. He couldn’t figure her out, and it made her an enigma to him. He wanted to know more about her, he wanted to get under her skin like she did to him. Riley was one of the very few women he actually wanted to have as his own, and he didn’t understand it. He had no clue why she was so tempting to him. Other women chased him around, flocked after him, all of which he had no interest in. Just her. She was so very captivating. He wanted her with every fiber of his being. He would have had her if not for his sister that night she walked in on them.
He felt like someone punched him in the gut, the way she was treating him with icy regard. She acted like he was beneath her. She couldn’t even look in the eyes. He despised being treated like a lowlife. Many gave him such treatment because his mother was a muggle instead of a pure blooded which like his sister’s mother was. Now a fellow Gryffindor was treating him the same way. She was acting like a Slytherin. Using him the way she wanted and them threw him away like he was yesterday’s news. He felt very hurt and confused. He didn’t know what to make of the madness. Her words tore at him, filling his heart with ice. He didn’t believe her. There was something there. Every time he looked into her eyes he saw the raw fire, that passion so unlike any other. How dare she demiss it like its nothing? She is just like everyone else Nic. She is a backstabbing bitch. Every time you think you have found a good one they turn around and do this to you. When are you going to learn they are all the same. There is no perfect woman out there for you. His mind knew it was true but his heart was still breaking, wanting to believe there was something there.
Dominic downed his glass and after it finished filling up, he downed half of that glass too. Almost four whole glasses of fire whiskey in his system because of this woman. Her words caused him to flinch, and finally that was the last straw. “You used me to get back at your boyfriend? Some little punk dickhead is why you had any interest in me? Your just like every other tramp in this fucking place. Using others to get your own means. You know what….fuck you. I never want to see you again. Get out of face, and my life. I thought you would be different…but instead you are nothing but a spineless worm and a coward.” It was the liquor bringing out the hurt and anger…but it was how he felt. He stood up and sent her a glare. He needed to go somewhere…get out of there…everyone was staring at him. He couldn’t go upstairs because his sister lingered there. So instead he made his way towards the door…he needed free of this hell. (up to you…chase him do wn…or let him get himself into more trouble as a drunken fool. Lol)

Riley knew everything she was saying to him was wrong, but she knew breaking his heart was the only way. Even if it meaned she had to hurt him and herself to do so. She hated it. Not being able to be with him. To be able to hold his hand, hug him, kiss him, or just call him hers. It could never happen. She promised Cartella it would never happen. When they first became friends, they promised that no boy would get between the two of them and they would always be there for each other. Why did she have to fall for Cartella's brother?
After making up all of those lies, Riley waited for Dominic's response. She wasn't sure how he was going to react. At first it didn't seem like he was willing to let her go, but now he just seemed very upset and not want to deal with her any more. She closed her eyes, holding back tears as she listened to him yell at her and call her many things. She couldn't blame him.
Dominic had gotten up and left. She wanted to chase after him and tell him the truth, but she knew she shouldn't. Her plan had worked, but why did she feel so bad about it? She felt like she lost another person she cared about all over again. She couldn't stay there any more. Getting up, Riley walked out of the Three Broomsticks, not looking at a single person as she headed out. Once outside, she took off running towards the school, but changed directions and headed for the Forbidden Forest instead; all the while tears were rolling down her checks. Riley just wanted to be alone to cry.
